Another convert !

To the bowl-scraper paddle for the KitchenAid stand mixers.

It works very well ~ I use the 5-quart mixer more often so I ordered that size to try it out. I'm sold!

I like it so much I'm going back to order one for one for the 6-quart mixer.

Has anyone else tried these? Any reviews? I'd love to hear!

They are available at amazon.com:

If you order, just make sure you select the correct size (5 or 6 quart) for your KA model ~ and select the tilt head models or the bowl lift model. They run from between $23. and $29. depending upon the model.

  1. Hi, Mari: thanks for commenting on these! I've been wondering whether they're worth the investment (and I wasn't sure till now that they were even available for my KA - five quart, lift, let's see, at least 20 years old and still going strong).

  2. My KitchenAid is still going strong, and I bought it in 1988 or 89. I will be delighted to buy it something! It deserves it.

  3. My adorable KA is at least 23 years old. The bowl says K45 (I'm assuming it's 4.5qt). I think I'm out of luch because I don't see a Metro beater that would fit. Oh well!

  4. I can't remember where I read it, but it was recently, and it got a favorable review...No more scraping down the bowl..

  5. I'm glad to see your review Mary. I have been debating buying one and this is one more mark in the yes column!!!

  6. Mari, thanks for the endorsement and review. I've been trying to decide between the Beater Blade and the SideSweep.

  9. I have been dreaming of and asking for a KitchenAid standing mixer for so many birthdays, Hanukkahs and Christmases but have yet to receive one! :-( It almost happened this year until, 2 weeks before the holidays my computer died! So I got my new MacBook. Lovely! But still dreaming of that KitchenAid and using a crappy hand mixer! Lucky you!

  10. Thanks for letting us know about this attachment, Mari. That's the only thing I haven't liked about my Kitchenaid in the 25 years I've had it - the constant scraping of the bowl.

  13. Thank you KA fans, for taking the time to leave comments! xo
I hope you are as pleased with the performance as I am.

Dragana, *sigh* my first KitchenAid was a KA45A (1979). I think it's still my favorite; lots of happy food memories associated with that one. It's still going strong down in the Bay Area house in CA. It is a real work horse all right.

Cynthia, thanks for the heads up on the similar attachment made by KA. I probably would have opted for that one, being an authentic KA part, had I known about it!

Jaimie, Hang in there ! It will be worth the wait, and you'll appreciate it all the more. :)

    Thanks again everyone!

  14. Yup, Lisa's got one and we used it to make our cupcakes this past weekend, works liek a charm. Though she says that you need to watch your beating times with it, and lessen the time used then the recipe calls for, becuase it does a more efficient job then the standard.

  17. I've never seen a more beautiful picture of a beater! LOL My 5 qt lift-up KA is 20 years this year. I'm going to have to make a cake and why not use the new scraper paddle as a celebration! Thanks Mari... I've seen these but never heard about how they would work.
