Tablescape Thursday ~ Thoughts of Paris

A group of us are taking a fantasy trip to Paris in a couple of days ~ And one of our lovely, lucky friends is actually going for a two week holiday!

So I thought I would incorporate the theme into this weeks Tablescape Thursday ~

With great thanks to our hostess, Susan at her lovely blog"Between Naps on the Porch".

Please click on the link to see the other particpants in this weeks Tablescape Thursday.
Chic black is the color of choice for my table this time
~

Owing to part of my heritage being French, I've collected French paraphernalia for years ~
and decided to incorporate some of it into the table scape.

The Lion Heads bowls are by the French porcelain maker Pillivuyt, the flatware is by the French company Comptoir de Famille.

I brought this domed pedestal from another room in the house, it contains some of my miniature Eiffel Tower collection, most of those seen here are handpainted Limoges boxes.

I'll remove the dome so hopefully you can see a little more detail~

The Chefs ~

The platter is by the beloved French artist Guy Buffet.

Some early Daffodils from the garden.

The linens (tablecloth, napkins, and placemats) are from April Cornell.

The wire Eiffel Tower candleholder was a gift, some years ago, from France.

I like to collect objects with the Fleur de Lis design, like this trivet and the napkin rings.

The salad plates are by Mikasa.

The teapot, creamer, and sugar, as well as the black dinnerplates are by Rosanna.

I adore the packaging for this line, all the pieces come packed in decorative hat boxes, and other pretty boxes ~ too pretty to be hidden away.

The wooden charger tray is from Neiman Marcus.

I hope you've enjoyed your visit, and hope you will leave a message so I can come by your blog and say hello.

Thank you for coming by, and have a lovely day!

  1. I loved this tablescape. Not sure where to start. The Limoges boxes were gorgeous. I loved how you displayed them. The chargers were wonderful; I have been eyeing them myself! You took a theme and carried it through beautifully, in the candlestick, the Limoges boxes, the salad plates and then the little details like the cards. Your ability to put together the colors was very pleasing to the eye. Overall, a real treat. Very exciting tablescape!
