Another salad so perfect for this time of year when the pears and walnuts are in season (here, in our area anyway.) It is a good recipe to keep in mind for late summer and the cooler months, when pears are generally most abundant.
I've mentioned before that I prefer 'composed' salads, as that is the kind that the French side of my family usually made. They bring back fond memories for me.
This is another one that comes together in moments, and another adapted from Donna Hay ~ I seem to be on a Donna Hay kick lately. I really enjoy her style of cooking.
Just allow the pears to caramelize in their dressing very briefly with the walnuts in a warm pan, then arrange on a bed of tender greens along with a couple of small slices of cheese. You can substitute Camembert, soft Blue Cheese, or almost any kind that you like.
It's satisfying, delicious and easy. What more could we ask for?!
I'll definitely make this one again.

Thank you for stopping by today ~ I hope you're having a good one. :)

Mary, you know that I'm not a big fan of salads. But, I have to tell you, I would be thrilled to eat every salad you make. I'm actually salivating over this one.
ReplyDeleteAnother one to go in my Mari file! Thank-you, I also prefer composed salads, but didn't realize they could have their own description.

I really can't think of anything much better than this combination. I will be making this one.

ReplyDeleteI love every part of this salad. I serve brie often as an appetizer with crackers but never think to use it for a meal!
ReplyDeleteIt looks excellent and I know I would love it. Good sale on pears here this week, .49 a lb. I love a sale!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely salad!
ReplyDeleteWow! This looks delicious and made with my favorite pears and brie. Delicious, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteThe pear is perfectly done! I personally prefer composed salads too ;) The only problem is, they are too pretty to eat!
ReplyDeleteThis looks quite tasty! It is the season for pears and they are such a nice touch to a salad. Add brie and I am in heaven.
ReplyDeleteThank salad looks amazing. My husband got his BS degree from Humboldt State. We both grew up in Sacramento. I'm curious to know what city you live in.
